Rockford Ravens Rugby Football Club
Rockford, Illinois, USA Est. 1976
Touring and hosting is as much part of rugby as playing the game and drinking beer. Rockford has hosted Bedlinog RFC from Bedlinog, Wales twice and Moray RFC, from Elgin, Scotland once. Major tours take place every 2-3 years, with the United Kingdom a common destination. The U.K. offers a somewhat common language, but a completely unique culture, history, and monetary system. Trips to the U.K. also tend to be less expensive than jetting off to Singapore or New Zealand. Minor tours to Florida, New Orleans, Missoula - MT, Traverse City - MI, and Mason City - IA are taken occasionally. Tours are all arranged by Lindstrom Travel, an expert in all types of travel, and accompanied by the lovely and talented Dick Sturm. As on all tours, guests are encouraged and treated as Ravens from the get go. Past tours have had game captains, tour judges, and team selectors from other teams. Rockford tours ensure that everyone that wants to play, plays every game. Rockford also tours as The Wild American Touring Side to represent the multifarious makeup of the touring teams. One has not lived until they have been on one of our tours.

"What goes on tour stays on tour" Alexander the Great
Since the dawn of time, those on tour have understood the necessity to bring home pictures, memories, but no stories. Well, sometimes the stories, in excerpt, can delight and entice future players to join a tour. The following are a few tales - brief - that give the flavor without revealing the meat.
1993 - "A night in Gillingham"
1995 - "The bells, the bells"
1998 - "In the footsteps of Robert Burns"
